We hold weekly in-store adoption events at the following location:
Petco Clear Lake
Saturday 11:00 am to 4:00 pm
2410 Bay Area Blvd.
Houston, TX 77058

Due to renovations being done at this Petco location, there will be no cats in the condos until it is safe for the cats to return.

Right now our #1 need is for more volunteers willing to foster a cat or dog!

SCP does not have a shelter so our ability to rescue animals is limited by the availability of openings in foster homes. For more information click here or scroll down.

Assistance for Hurricane Harvey Impact on Area Pets

2017 Hurrican Harvey Kittens

Second Chance Pets has an opportunity to be of service to the animals and their families in our area in the coming weeks and even months as the community deals with the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey. We are currently looking for families that are willing to foster a cat or dog until it is adopted. We would love to be able to pull more animals from the shelters to alleviate the stress on those facilities from the large influx of animals displaced by the storm. If you can help foster please email us.

Also at this time, our goal is to offer assistance to local shelters and displaced families by providing the pet supplies they need to care for the animals at their shelters and in their possession. Local shelters are seeing a large influx of displaced dogs and cats that will need care for an extended period of time. Additionally, many individuals have damaged homes and will need assistance with basic pet supplies as they locate alternative places to live.

We do not have anywhere to store donated supplies, so at this time we are asking that if you would like to assist Second Chance Pets with this relief effort please make a monetary donation and designate it for "Hurricane Harvey". We will then use these specially marked funds to support the pet needs identified by the shelters and families. Donations can be made via PayPal link below (please include a note in the special instructions section that your donation is for Hurricane Harvey assistance):

SCP is ALWAYS looking for new fosters but has an urgent need right now as our existing foster network is full!

Because we do not have a shelter, we cannot accept a new cat or dog into the program unless there is a foster available who will provide shelter, food, care and love until the animal is adopted (SCP pays the pet’s vet bills).

We need additional compassionate people who have room in their homes and hearts to care for a rescued cat or dog until we are able to find it a forever home. Fostering is easy and rewarding - providing temporary care for a pet awaiting adoption is a great family volunteer project with the satisfaction of knowing you are saving a life!
To learn more about fostering for SCP see our Foster Brochure. There is also a nice article on the SCP foster program in the March 2014 edition of Galveston Monthly Magazine – click here to read it. To volunteer as a foster or for more information, please email us.
